Frequently asked questions

What candidates ask most often

Do I need a qualification to apply?
FIFA does not require a degree or prior professional experience. Article 5 eligibility criteria apply, including requirements relating to convictions and conflicts of interest.
Is the exam open book?
Yes. FIFA study materials could be consulted during the 2026 exam, which allowed 60 minutes for 20 questions and used over 1,000 pages of documents. Candidates needed to know where to find the information quickly. The details and study materials for 2027 have not yet been published and are expected in early 2027.
How does scoring work?
Each question contributes 5% of the final score and may have one or more correct answers. The answer must be entirely correct. Partial, blank or incorrect responses receive zero; there is no half credit.
What if I fail?
You can apply again in a later session, submitting a new application and paying the exam fee again. FIFA sets the session timetable.
Is the exam available in French?
Yes. French is among the exam languages, and FIFA publishes French study materials. This website's source course material was developed from the official French versions.
How much does the exam cost?
FIFA charges an exam fee at application. The amount and payment method appear in its registration information for each edition. Preparation on this website is free.
